Alt text, accessibility and SEO checks, summaries and translations from Do4U, right in WordPress. You confirm every paid request.

== Description ==

Do4U for WordPress connects your site to your Do4U account (https://do4u.eu). It adds Tools > Do4U Workbench
and a "Do4U" link in the rows of posts, pages and media.

Five tools:

* Image alternative text: suggests alt text for an image in your media library. After your confirmation it is saved
  as the alt text of that image only.
* Accessibility check: checks the saved content of a post or page. The result is a report; nothing is changed.
* SEO / website check: checks a published, public post or page by its address. The result is a report; nothing is changed.
* Summary: summarizes a post or page and saves the summary as a new draft.
* Translation: translates the text of a post or page into one of 21 languages and saves it as a new draft.

How it works:

1. Choose an item and a tool. The plugin prepares a free local preview and shows exactly the data it will send.
2. Confirm the paid request. Only then does the plugin send it to Do4U, using credits from your account.
3. Refresh to fetch the result and review it.
4. Confirm again to save alt text or create the new draft. Original posts are never replaced or published.

The plugin adds nothing to the public part of your website: no scripts, no styles, no cookies for visitors.
WooCommerce is not required. The plugin interface is in English.

== Installation ==

1. Download do4u-wordpress.zip from https://do4u.eu/en/wordpress-plugin.
2. In WordPress, go to Plugins > Add New Plugin > Upload Plugin, choose the ZIP file, install and activate it.
3. In your Do4U account, create an API key at https://do4u.eu/api-keys.
4. In WordPress, go to Tools > Do4U Workbench. As an administrator, open "Do4U API key", paste the key and save it.

Only administrators can save or clear the API key. Editors can use the workbench for items they are allowed to edit.

== Frequently Asked Questions ==

= What does a request cost? =

Every confirmed request uses credits from your Do4U account, at the prices shown on https://do4u.eu/en/pricing.
The local preview is free. If Do4U cannot complete a task, it costs nothing.

= Which languages can I translate into? =

English, German, Polish, French, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Czech, Slovak, Ukrainian, Bulgarian, Danish, Greek, Finnish,
Croatian, Hungarian, Lithuanian, Portuguese, Romanian, Slovenian and Swedish. The language of results follows your
WordPress user language (English, German or Polish; otherwise English).

= Why does the SEO check or the alt text fail on my test site? =

Do4U loads the page or image from its public address. Pages behind a login, a password or a private network cannot be reached.

= What happens if a request times out? =

The plugin does not send the request again by itself, so you are not charged twice. Check your tasks in your Do4U account
first. "Reset" discards the local state; it does not cancel a task.

== External services ==

This plugin sends data to the Do4U API (https://do4u.eu/api/v1/) only when a user confirms a paid request, and when
that user fetches the result. Do4U is operated by the provider named in the legal notice on https://do4u.eu.
Processing takes place in the EU. Trust center and privacy: https://do4u.eu/en/trust

What is sent, depending on the tool:

* Image alternative text: the public address of the image file and the title of the image.
* Accessibility check: the title and the saved content of the post or page as HTML (shortcodes removed, not executed).
* SEO / website check: the public address of the post or page. Do4U then loads that page.
* Summary and translation: the title is not sent; the plain text of the post or page (tags and shortcodes removed,
  at most 12,000 characters) and, for translations, the target language.
* Always: your API key (in the Authorization header), the tool, the language for results and the setting "no_store".

With "no_store", Do4U deletes the submitted content once the task is done and the result after it has been fetched,
at the latest after one hour. Your Do4U account keeps the task itself (tool, time, credits) without its content.
The plugin uses its own user agent, so the address of your website is not sent along.

== Privacy ==

In WordPress, the plugin stores:

* the API key, encrypted with the WordPress salts (changing the salts requires saving the key again);
* for each user, the current preview, the job reference and the result. Content expires after 24 hours and is removed
  on the next access or by the hourly WordPress cleanup (WP-Cron runs when your site has traffic). The job reference
  remains until "Reset".

Deleting the plugin removes the API key, these states, locks and notices. Approved alt text and generated drafts remain.

== Limits ==

* The accessibility check covers the saved content only, not the theme, shortcodes or dynamic widgets.
* Translations and summaries are plain text drafts; formatting is not kept.
* Irish, Maltese, Latvian and Estonian are not offered as translation targets yet.
* Updates are not automatic. Download the new version from https://do4u.eu/en/wordpress-plugin.
* Advanced: wp-config.php may define DO4U_API_BASE. Only https addresses on do4u.eu ending in /api/v1/ are accepted.
* After a fatal error, an administrator may delete the option do4u_wp_lock_USERID, but only after checking that no request is still running.

== Changelog ==

  readme.txt, uninstall also removes locks and notices.
