Price display check

Do4U reads the prices of a product page and compares them with a few rules of the German price indication ordinance (PAngV) or the Polish act on price information. You enter the address of the page or paste its HTML or text. The code finds current and struck-through prices, discounts, unit prices, quantities, notes on VAT and shipping, and the price in the structured data (JSON-LD, microdata). Every finding comes with a quote from your page, the rule and a neutral note on what to check. If a block shows several amounts without a mark, the Do4U AI can sort them, but only from the amounts the code found. This is not legal advice.

Privacy

Processed on our own servers in the EU (Poland). Inputs and results are deleted after 7 days (Free) or 30 days (packages), or right after you see the result if you choose not to store them. Images are deleted right after processing.

In the API

Tool name: price_display_check. Create a job with POST /api/v1/jobs and fetch the result with GET /api/v1/jobs/{id}. You find your API key in your account.

Questions and answers

Does Do4U tell me whether my prices are legal?

No. The tool is not legal advice and never says that a page is fine. It reads the visible text and the data of your page, compares them with a few rules and lists the places you should check, each with a quote and the rule. “No finding” only means that the code found nothing at this point. The cart, the checkout and your price history are not visible to it.

Which rules are checked?

For prices in euros the rules of the German price indication ordinance (PAngV), for prices in złoty the Polish act on informing about the prices of goods and services and its regulation; you can also choose the rules yourself. Checked are: a reduction without the lowest price of the last 30 days, the unit price, notes on VAT and shipping costs and the currency. The price in the structured data is compared with the visible price as well; that is about data quality, not a legal rule.

What does the AI do?

Only one small part. If a price block shows several amounts and the page does not mark which one is the current price, the Do4U AI decides it, and only from the amounts the code found. The code checks the choice and then works out the findings itself. Without AI the tool runs as code only and is free up to a daily limit.

Is my text stored?

Only as long as needed: 7 days on Free, 30 days with a package – or not at all if you choose not to store it. Processing happens on our own servers in the EU (Poland).

Can I use the result right away?

Results are AI-generated. Please read them before you publish or send them.
