Download plugin (ZIP)

Version 0.2.0 · ZIP, 24.5 KB · WordPress 6.4 or later · PHP 8.1 or later

The plugin is free. Each request you confirm uses credits from your Do4U account. The preview in WordPress costs nothing, and a task Do4U cannot complete costs nothing either.

What the plugin does

The plugin adds Tools → Do4U Workbench to WordPress, and a “Do4U” link in the lists of posts, pages and media. It has five tools:

  • Image alternative text: suggests alt text for an image in your media library. After you confirm it, it is saved as the alt text of this image only.
  • Accessibility check: checks the saved content of a post or page. You get a report; nothing is changed.
  • SEO and website check: checks a published, public post or page by its address. You get a report; nothing is changed.
  • Summary: summarizes a post or page and saves the summary as a new draft.
  • Translation: translates the text of a post or page into one of 21 languages and saves it as a new draft.

How a request works

  1. Choose a post, page or image and a tool. The plugin prepares a free preview and shows exactly the data it will send.
  2. Confirm the paid request. Only then does the plugin send it to Do4U.
  3. Fetch the result with “Refresh result” and review it.
  4. Confirm again to save the alt text or to create the new draft.

What the plugin never does

  • It never replaces or publishes your original posts. Summaries and translations are new drafts.
  • It never changes anything because of a check. Checks are reports.
  • It never sends a request again by itself after a timeout, so you are not charged twice.
  • It adds nothing to the public part of your website: no scripts, no styles, no cookies for visitors.

Requirements

  • WordPress 6.4 or later
  • PHP 8.1 or later
  • A Do4U account with credits and an API key
  • Your web server can open HTTPS connections to do4u.eu
  • For the SEO check and alt text: the page or image is publicly reachable. Pages behind a login, a password or a private network are not.
  • WooCommerce is not needed.

Privacy: what goes to Do4U

The plugin sends data to Do4U only when you confirm a request, and when you fetch its result. The Do4U AI processes it in the EU. Depending on the tool, this is sent:

  • Alt text: the public address of the image file and the title of the image.
  • Accessibility check: the title and the saved content of the post or page as HTML. Shortcodes are removed, not run.
  • SEO and website check: the public address of the post or page. Do4U then loads this page.
  • Summary and translation: the plain text of the post or page, at most 12,000 characters, and the target language. Tags and shortcodes are removed.
  • With every request: your API key, the tool, the language for the result and the setting “do not store”.

With “do not store”, Do4U deletes your content as soon as the task is done, and the result once the plugin has fetched it, at the latest after one hour. Your Do4U account keeps the task itself (tool, time, credits) without its content. The plugin uses its own browser identification, so the address of your website is not sent along. It sends no data about your visitors.

In WordPress, the plugin stores the encrypted API key and, for each user, the current preview and result. These expire after 24 hours. When you delete the plugin, the key and these entries are removed. Approved alt text and new drafts stay.
