Explain terms

Do4U reads your text – or the text of a web page – and finds the words readers may not understand: long words, abbreviations, technical terms and foreign words. It then explains each one briefly and in simple words, at the level you choose: easy to read, general readers or professionals. The code finds the candidates and checks the result: every explained term really appears in your text, none is repeated, they are listed in the order they first appear, and each explanation stays within the length limit. You can add an example sentence for each term and copy the list as Markdown or as an HTML definition list. By default the explanations come in the language of your text.

Questions and answers

How does Do4U choose which terms to explain?

The code first looks for candidates: long words, abbreviations in capital letters, technical word endings and foreign words. The AI then picks the ones that readers at your chosen level would probably not understand and explains them. You can change the level and the language of the explanations.

How do I know the terms are really in my text?

The code searches every explained term in your text. A term that is not there is dropped, and so is a repeated one. For each term you see how often it appears, the place where it first appears and a short extract. The list follows the order of your text, and explanations that are too long are cut to whole sentences.

Can I rely on the explanations?

They are AI-generated and explain the general meaning of a term. The AI is told not to invent figures, names, laws or sources, but it can still be wrong, especially for special meanings in your field. Please read the explanations before you publish them. At the easy-to-read level the code also points out long sentences and long words.

Is my text stored?

Only as long as needed: 7 days on Free, 30 days with a package – or not at all if you choose not to store it. Processing happens on our own servers in the EU (Poland).

Can I use the result right away?

Results are AI-generated. Please read them before you publish or send them.
