Outdated content

Do4U searches a page or a text for things that can go stale: dates and deadlines that have passed, years in statements such as “new in 2023”, “as of 2022” or “coming soon”, the copyright year, old dates in the data of the page and prices to check. You give the address of a page or paste a text, and optionally a reference date (today if you leave it empty). The code does the main work and quotes every place exactly as it stands in your text. The AI then rates each place (probably outdated, unclear, probably fine), gives a short reason and suggests a new wording. The list starts with the expired dates.

Who it is for

For website owners, editors, marketing teams and agencies who maintain many pages and want to find old dates, offers and claims before a visitor does.

Typical uses

  • Check an old landing page for expired offers and deadlines
  • Find “new” and “coming soon” statements that refer to a past year
  • Clean up event pages after a relaunch
  • Prepare a content audit with exact quotes

Example

Input

Text: New in 2023: our summer sale! Register until 30 September 2024 at the front desk. Prices as of March 2022. Coming soon: the new website for 2025. © 2020 Muster Ltd. Reference date: 2026-10-28

Result

“30 September 2024” → Expired date (high) “2025” → “Coming soon” with a past date (high) “2023” → “New” with a past year (high) “March 2022” → “As of” date (high) “© 2020” → Copyright year (medium) Every place is a quote from the text. The AI rates it, gives a reason and suggests a new wording without inventing a date or a price.

Questions and answers

How does Do4U know that something is outdated?

It does not know it, it finds candidates. The code searches your page or text for dates and deadlines before the reference date, years in statements such as “new in 2023” or “as of 2022”, the copyright year, words such as “coming soon”, dates in the data of the page (for example dateModified) and prices. Every candidate is quoted exactly as it stands in your text. The AI then judges each candidate and suggests a new wording. What is true today only you can say, so the result is a list to check.

Can the AI invent dates or prices in its suggestions?

It is told not to, and the code checks it: a reason, a suggestion or a summary that contains a number that is neither in the quotes nor the reference date is replaced or left out. The quotes are checked to be unchanged. If the real value is not known, a suggestion uses a neutral wording or a placeholder such as [new date].

Which languages and date formats work?

Dates written with numbers (28.10.2026, 2026-10-28, 10/28/2026, 2026年10月28日) work in every language, month names in 13 languages. The keywords that show whether a year belongs to a claim (“new”, “until”, “as of”, “coming soon”) are known in German, English, Polish, French and Spanish. In other languages the tool still finds past dates, but rates them lower.

Is my text stored?

Only as long as needed: 7 days on Free, 30 days with a package – or not at all if you choose not to store it. Processing happens on our own servers in the EU (Poland).

Can I use the result right away?
