Product document consistency
Compare source-linked product values across datasheets, manuals, packaging and product text with explicit unit rules and tolerances.

A product can carry different specifications in its datasheet, manual and packaging. This comparison keeps each value beside its exact source quotation and compares every document with a chosen reference. The AI extracts bounded evidence; code handles permitted unit conversions, text normalisation and numeric tolerances.

Who it is for
Product managers, technical writers, quality reviewers and small manufacturers maintaining several descriptions of the same product.
Typical uses
- Find changed weights, dimensions or text attributes before publication.
- Compare metric representations without silently treating incompatible units as equal.
- Identify missing reference values and prepare an auditable correction list.
Example
Input
Product documents: id,kind, text D1,datasheet,Weight: 2 kg. Colour: Blue. D2,packaging,Weight: 2000 g. Colour: blue. D3,manual,Weight: 2.2 kg. Colour: Red. Features to compare: id,label, type, unit F1,Weight,number,kg F2,Colour,text, Reference document ID: D1 Unit comparison: Allow listed metric conversions Absolute numeric tolerance: 0.05 Relative tolerance (%): 1 Text case comparison: Ignore case Text whitespace comparison: Normalise whitespace Missing-value treatment: Flag an evidence gap Rows shown: All comparisons Result order: Issues first Source decimal separator: Decimal point
Result
With listed metric conversions and case-insensitive text, packaging agrees with the datasheet. The manual shows a weight difference and colour conflict, each with its original quotation. The selected tolerance determines whether the numeric difference is acceptable.

Questions and answers
What does the reference document control?
Every other document is compared with its extracted reference value. Missing or ambiguous reference evidence remains unresolved; the tool never fills it from another document.
How do tolerances and units work?
The allowed numeric difference is max(absolute tolerance, abs(reference value) × relative percentage / 100). Values must use the same comparison unit or an explicitly permitted conversion. Unit conflicts cannot pass through a wide tolerance.
What are the limits?
Supply 2–4 documents of up to 2,400 UTF-8 bytes each and up to 6 feature definitions; input envelope up to 50,000 bytes. One source-bound observation is required for every document-feature pair. Feature labels must occur literally in quotations. Numeric values allow six decimal places and magnitude up to 100,000,000. Only explicitly listed unit families can be converted; tolerances use the declared feature unit. Images, tables requiring OCR, temperature offsets and compound-unit conversions are not supported. Extraction may miss or misinterpret a statement; source review is mandatory. No product certification or legal compliance assessment is provided. Supported evidence uses explicit attribute statements such as Weight: 2 kg or Colour=Blue; free-form statements without this structure remain missing. Text qualifiers must be retained; qualified numeric statements are not treated as bare numbers.
Is my text stored?
Only as long as needed: 7 days on Free, 30 days with a package – or not at all if you choose not to store it. Processing happens on our own servers in the EU (Poland).
