Room measurements and material quantities

Convert rectangular room measurements into surface quantities and material requirements using supplied coverage, coats, reserve and package sizes.

Input

Room measurements: id,name,length,width,height,product_id,note R1,Workshop,5,4,2.5,P1,Verify the wall measurements before ordering. R2,Store room,3,2,2.5,P1,Use the same supplied wall coating. Opening measurements: id,room_id,width,heigh…

Result

The workshop has 45 m² of gross wall area and 5 m² of linked openings, leaving 40 m². The store room adds 25 m². At two coats, 10 m²/L coverage and 10% reserve, the requirements are 8.8 L and 5.5 L. Aggregating the product gives 14.3 L, …

Material planning becomes easier to review when geometry, deductions and consumption remain separate. This tool calculates rectangular floors, ceilings or wall areas from supplied dimensions, applies explicitly linked openings and uses the supplied product coverage to derive quantities. The AI checks the source notes for measurement, access, deduction or coverage concerns without inventing dimensions or product rates.

Who it is for

Trades, maintenance teams, facility managers and project estimators preparing quantities for rectangular spaces. Suitable for auditable ordering drafts based on measured inputs and documented product assumptions.

Typical uses

  • Calculate floor, ceiling or wall areas with explicit unit conversion.
  • Trace every opening deduction to a supplied record.
  • Apply product-specific or global coat counts and an explicit reserve.
  • Aggregate purchasing by product or round packages separately for each room.
  • Keep excessive deductions and missing package sizes visible for correction.

Questions and answers

Are coverage rates looked up automatically?

No. Every product rate is explicitly supplied as m² per L or kg per coat. Product suitability, substrate conditions and manufacturer restrictions require separate verification.

Can irregular rooms be calculated?

The supported geometry is rectangular. An irregular surface can be represented by separately measured rectangles only when their boundaries and deductions are checked externally; the tool does not detect overlapping geometry.

Why can package totals differ by rounding scope?

Aggregating by product shares whole packages across the referenced rooms. Room-based rounding assumes separate package allocations and can produce more surplus.

Is my text stored?

Only as long as needed: 7 days on Free, 30 days with a package – or not at all if you choose not to store it. Processing happens on our own servers in the EU (Poland).

Can I use the result right away?
