API documentation

With the Do4U API you use the same tools as on the website from your own software: summarise, compare, support replies, alt texts, rewrite and translate. Every request is processed on our own servers in Poland, EU.

OpenAPI 3.1 description (JSON) – Machine-readable description of this API for code generators and tools such as Postman or Insomnia. No key needed.

Authentication

Create a key under API keys in your account. Send it with every request in the header Authorization: Bearer <key> (or X-API-Key: <key>). Keep the key secret and never put it into a web page. You can revoke a key at any time.

How it works

Jobs run asynchronously. You create a job and get its id at once (HTTP 202). Then you fetch the job until its status is done or failed. Ask every 2 to 5 seconds; most jobs take a few seconds.

Request fields for POST /jobs

Repeat requests safely (Idempotency-Key)

Send the header Idempotency-Key with POST /jobs, for example a random UUID for each job (1 to 255 printable ASCII characters). If the connection breaks and you send the same request again with the same Idempotency-Key and the same API key within 24 hours, you get the same answer again: the same job, no second job and no second charge. The answer then has the header Idempotent-Replayed: true. Use a new key for every new job. If you send the same key with a different request, you get 422 idempotency_conflict. Errors are not stored: after an error you can send the request again with the same key.

Tools and options

Job status

queued and running: still working (position and wait_seconds help you to wait). done: result contains the fields of the tool. failed: nothing was charged (credits is 0); error.code names the reason: address_blocked (Do4U does not open this address, for example a private or internal one; send the text or HTML instead), input_too_large (shorten the input), image_unavailable or job_failed. expired: the result is no longer stored.

Webhooks

Voeg "callback_url" toe aan POST /api/v1/jobs, en Do4U stuurt een ondertekende POST (event job.finished met status, credits en de link naar het resultaat - niet het resultaat zelf) zodra de taak is voltooid. Alleen publieke adressen op poort 80 of 443; we proberen het tot 6 keer met toenemende tussenpozen.

Voorbeeld: maak een job aan met callback_url – en de aanvraag Do4U wordt naar dat adres gestuurd wanneer de job is voltooid:

Controleer de header X-Do4U-Signature: t=<time>,v1=<hex>, waarbij v1 = HMAC-SHA256(secret, "<time>.<raw body>"). Weiger oude tijdstempels (bijv. ouder dan 5 minuten). Je geheim begint met whsec_ en wordt getoond op de pagina API-sleutels.

credits.low

Wanneer het credittegoed van een account onder de drempelwaarde daalt, stuurt Do4U één ondertekende POST naar het webhook-adres van het account. De gebeurtenis bevat geen persoonlijke gegevens, alleen het saldo, de drempelwaarde en de tijd (UTC). De volgende volgt pas nadat er weer credits zijn toegevoegd (aankoop, maandelijkse gratis credits of voucher). Handtekening en geheim zijn hetzelfde als voor job.finished.

n8n

Kant-en-klaar workflow: een webhook ontvangt de oproep van Do4U, controleert de handtekening, haalt het resultaat op en geeft het door aan je volgende stap.

Sjabloon, nog niet getest in een echte n8n- of Make-instantie – test de handtekeningcontrole voordat je deze gebruikt.

In n8n: Workflows → Importeren uit bestand. Voer vervolgens je geheim in in de node "Check signature" en je API-sleutel in "Do4U: get result", activeer de workflow en gebruik de productie-URL van de webhook als callback_url. Zelf-gehoste n8n heeft de omgevingsvariabele NODE_FUNCTION_ALLOW_BUILTIN=crypto nodig voor de handtekeningcontrole.

Make

1. Voeg de module Webhooks → Custom webhook toe als trigger en zet "JSON pass-through" en "Get request headers" aan in de geavanceerde instellingen.
2. Gebruik het adres van deze webhook als callback_url.
3. Controleer de handtekening: vergelijk v1 uit de header X-Do4U-Signature met sha256(t + "." + ruwe body; hex; je geheim).
4. Voeg HTTP → Make a request toe: GET op result_url met de header Authorization: Bearer <your API key>.
5. Gebruik het veld result in je volgende modules.

Sjabloon, nog niet getest in een echte n8n- of Make-instantie – test de handtekeningcontrole voordat je deze gebruikt.

Recepten: keten van tools

Een recept voert 2 tot 4 tools na elkaar uit als één taak. Stuur "recipe" in plaats van "tool": ofwel de naam van een kant-en-klaar recept of een lijst met stappen. De tekst gaat naar de eerste stap; het resultaat van elke stap is de tekst voor de volgende stap. GET /api/v1/recipes toont de kant-en-klare recepten, de tools die je kunt gebruiken en het veld dat elke tool doorgeeft.

Je krijgt één schatting voor alle stappen (credits_estimate). Dat bedrag wordt aan het begin gereserveerd. Na elke stap wordt het werkelijke verbruik geboekt en het restant blijft gereserveerd tot het einde, waarna het wordt vrijgegeven. Een mislukte stap kost niets, de resterende stappen worden overgeslagen en stappen die al voltooid waren worden in rekening gebracht.

GET /api/v1/jobs/{id} toont elke stap met de status (pending, queued, running, done, failed, skipped), de credits, een melding input_shortened als de tekst ingekort moest worden voor de volgende tool, en het resultaat van elke stap zodra het recept is afgelopen. Met no_store worden de resultaten eenmalig getoond. callback_url wordt één keer uitgevoerd, aan het einde van het recept.

Errors

Errors always have the same form: {"error": {"code": "...", "message": "..."}}. With 429 and 503 the header Retry-After says how many seconds to wait.

Limits

• 60 requests per minute per key and 120 per account.
• Open jobs at the same time per account: Free 3, Starter 3, Standard 5, Pro 10, for the website and the API together.
• Input: Free 8 000 characters, paid packages 30 000. Lower limits per tool: compare 20 000, alt_text 1 000, translate 12 000 (compare: both texts together).
• API keys: Free 1, Starter 1, Standard 5, Pro 10.

Credits

A new job shows an estimate (credits_estimate); charged is the actual use (credits). Failed jobs cost nothing. Free credits are used first.

Data

Inputs and results are stored for 7 days (Free) or 30 days (paid packages), then deleted. Images are deleted right after processing. Results are AI-generated: please check them before you use them.

Beantwoord e-mails zonder je inbox te wijzigen

Do4U beheert zelf geen inbox en sla nooit toegangsgegevens voor je mailbox op. Er zijn twee manieren om toch conceptantwoorden te krijgen:

S1 – Sjabloon voor n8n of Make

1. Trigger: een nieuwe e-mail in je mailbox (IMAP-trigger in n8n of Make – de toegangsgegevens blijven daar)
2. POST /api/v1/jobs met tool support_reply, de e-mailtekst en no_store: true
3. Wacht een paar seconden en haal GET /api/v1/jobs/{id} op totdat de status 'done' is
4. Maak een concept aan in je mailbox met de tekst van result.reply (Gmail of Outlook module)

Dev-extensies en shop-plugins

Pak het ZIP-bestand uit en lees de bijgevoegde handleiding. Installeer de browser-extensie lokaal; controleer shop-plugins eerst in een testshop. Je eigen Dev API-sleutel is vereist. Shopware biedt momenteel een CLI aan.
